Oxfordshire Artweeks 2025: A Magical First Private View
Photograph by Phoebe Cheetham
Back in May, I reached a huge milestone in my journey as an artist: my very first Private View in the heart of Oxford.
To be honest, it felt a lot like my wedding day! I was surrounded by so many loved ones, and seeing my work on the walls of such a central location was truly magical.
While this wasn't my first exhibition, it was the first time I decided to "make it big." Alongside my talented artist friends, Rachel and Tim, we took over a wonderful space at Conways Opticians. Having an exhibition right in the centre of town brought in so many familiar faces and plenty of new friends too.
Finding "Good Homes"
One of the most rewarding parts of being an artist is that moment of connection. Some of you even took my paintings home with you! Thank you so much—it is always a wonderful feeling to know my "babies" have found a good home where they will be loved.
A Night to Remember
Below are some of the beautiful moments captured during the evening. If you attended, have a look—can you find yourself in the crowd?
The atmosphere was buzzing, and I am so grateful to everyone who took the time to stop by, chat about my work, and support the local arts scene during Oxfordshire Artweeks.
A massive thank you to Conways Opticians for the space, to my friends for their endless help behind the scenes, and a very special thanks to Peter Killingback for these incredible photographs.
Thank you for coming and thanks Conways Opticians and the help of my friends.
